Convicted of the 1979 double murder of an elderly couple in Kent County, Delaware. Because his crimes predated Delaware’s 1986 switch to lethal injection as the default method, he was allowed to choose hanging. He was the first person hanged in Delaware in 50 years. Delaware later abolished the death penalty in 2016.
