Criminal History (Public Record)

Convicted of first-degree murder for the 1880 strychnine poisoning of her husband's 8-year-old half-sister, Alice Meaker, in Duxbury, Vermont. Her son Almon testified against her and had his own death sentence commuted; Emeline was hanged at the Vermont State Prison in Windsor on March 30, 1883.
