Karla Faye Tucker (1959โ€“1998) was an American woman convicted of capital murder in Texas. She was executed by lethal injection on February 3, 1998, becoming the first woman executed in Texas in 135 years and the second woman executed in the United States after the reinstatement of capital punishment in 1976. While on death row she underwent a religious conversion and expressed remorse.
