Convicted of the 1878 murder of Doc McClain (or Morrow in accounts). Sentenced to death and hanged March 1879.

Background

Andrew J. Brown (1854–1879) was convicted of murder in Texas along with his brother George. They were executed by hanging in Denton in 1879 after a change of venue from Montague County. Their tombstones in the public Oakwood Cemetery are inscribed "Executed".
