Convicted of multiple murders in Chicago and Los Angeles in the 1930s. He bludgeoned at least five women with bricks during burglaries. Convicted in Chicago for the 1938 murder of Florence Johnson. Executed in the electric chair at Cook County Jail on June 16, 1939. The case received extensive Chicago Tribune coverage.
