Convicted in 1931 of the first-degree murder of her friend Agnes Anne LeRoi (and implicated in the death of Hedvig Samuelson). The victims' dismembered bodies were found in trunks shipped from Phoenix to Los Angeles. Sentenced to death, later commuted to life; paroled and died in 1998.
