Convicted (with two male accomplices) of the 1940 robbery and murder of Joseph P. Calloway, a Texas businessman, near Lake Charles. She was sentenced to death and executed in the electric chair at the Louisiana State Penitentiary on November 28, 1942. The case received national attention.
