Convicted of first-degree murder for the February 15, 1933 shooting that killed Chicago Mayor Anton Cermak (and wounded several others). Zangara pleaded guilty and was sentenced to death. Executed in the electric chair at the Florida State Prison in Raiford on March 20, 1933.
