Convicted of first-degree murder (and 43 additional counts) for placing a bomb in his mother's suitcase, killing all 44 people aboard the flight from Denver to Portland. Motivated by insurance money. Sentenced to death and executed in the gas chamber at the Colorado State Penitentiary on January 11, 1957.
